Francisco Pereira Chagas, known professionally as Magary Lord, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and percussionist who emerged as a significant force in the Bahian music scene. He is recognized as the pioneer of the "Black Semba" genre, a unique fusion of Angolan Semba with American Black Music influences such as rock, reggae, funk, and soul. Lord's music also incorporates traditional rhythms from the Recôncavo Baiano, like Samba de Roda and Samba de Bordão, alongside reinterpretations of MPB classics.

Lord began his musical journey at 18, joining the band Swing Percussão. He later formed the group Afro Black Semba Bahia in 2005, and his solo career gained national attention around 2012, with performances at major events like the Salvador Summer Festival and Carnival. His compositions have been recorded by prominent artists such as Seu Jorge, Bebel Gilberto, Ivete Sangalo, and Saulo Fernandes, showcasing the broad appeal and versatility of his work. His music is characterized by its infectious rhythm, joyful energy, and lyrics that often explore everyday life, love, and the unexpected.

Beyond his own artistic endeavors, Magary Lord has also been involved in collaborative projects, including the musical movement "Mudei de Nome" with other notable Brazilian artists.
