Biography
Maglore is a Brazilian alternative rock and MPB band formed in August 2009 in Salvador, Bahia. Founded by Teago Oliveira, Lelo Brandão, Carlos Nery Leal, and Igor Andrade, the group quickly gained recognition by winning the student music contest "Desafio das Bandas" and releasing their debut EP, Cores do Vento, in the same year. Their first studio album, Veroz (2011), was praised as one of the revelations of Brazilian music by the newspaper O Globo, earning them a nomination at the Prêmio da Música Brasileira in 2012. Over the years, the band underwent several lineup changes while continuing to evolve their sound, blending sunny melodies with influences ranging from Jovem Guarda and Tropicália icons like Caetano Veloso to rock legends.
Throughout their career, Maglore released notable albums such as Vamos pra Rua (2013) — featuring collaborations with Carlinhos Brown and Wado — and the critically acclaimed III (2015). Their fourth studio album, Todas as Bandeiras (2017), was ranked among the best national records of the year by Rolling Stone Brasil. Known for their engaging live performances, the band recorded their first live DVD, Maglore Ao Vivo, at Cine Joia in 2019. Their songwriting, primarily driven by frontman Teago Oliveira, has also crossed over to other major artists; songs like "Motor" have been recorded by Pitty and performed live by Gal Costa.
Maintaining a steady presence in the Brazilian independent scene, Maglore expanded their discography with the release of their fifth studio album, V, in 2022, followed by the acoustic project Acústico in 2024 to celebrate their 15th anniversary. In 2026, the group released their sixth studio album of original material, Fluxo Natural, via LOCO Records. Their work frequently intersects with other prominent figures in Brazilian music, including partnerships and collaborations with artists such as Fernanda Takai, John Ulhoa, Josyara, and Luê, cementing their legacy as a vital force in contemporary Brazilian rock.
