Maguinho, whose full name is Magno de Alcântara Brecht, is a renowned Brazilian drummer and percussionist, born in the countryside of Minas Gerais. His musical journey began in the mid-1970s, playing in balls and bars, and by the age of 16 he was already in demand for recordings and accompanied artists like Lô Borges in shows. His career is marked by vast collaboration with great names of Brazilian music, demonstrating his versatility and talent.

Throughout his career, Maguinho has participated in recordings and shows with an impressive list of artists, including Fábio Jr., Simone, Leila Pinheiro, Djavan, Gal Costa, Johnny Alf, Jane Duboc, Chico Buarque, Francis Hime, Ana Caran, and even sertanejo duos like Chitãozinho & Xororó. His skill with drums and percussion made him a highly valued session musician, known for his technique and groove.

In addition to his work with popular artists, Maguinho has also collaborated with musicians from the Brazilian instrumental scene, such as Natan Marques, Ricardo Leão, Nico Assumpção, and Arthur Maia, besides trumpeter Raul de Souza.
