Biography

Maiara & Maraisa is a prominent Brazilian female sertaneja music duo formed by twin sisters Maiara Carla Henrique Pereira and Carla Maraisa Henrique Pereira. Born in São José dos Quatro Marcos, Mato Grosso, the sisters moved through several Brazilian cities during their childhood before eventually settling in Goiânia, Goiás. They showed an early passion for music, performing on stage at just five years old and later releasing their debut album, Geminis – Totalmente Livre, in 2004 with pop and rock influences before transitioning firmly into sertanejo music.

Over the years, the duo achieved massive national success and became leading figures in the "feminejo" subgenre, which highlights female empowerment and perspectives in Brazilian country music. Their breakthrough came with the 2016 live album Ao Vivo em Goiânia, featuring major hit singles such as "10%" and "Medo Bobo". Throughout their career, they have collaborated closely with notable artists like Marília Mendonça and Jorge & Mateus, cementing their legacy as one of the most successful female acts in the history of sertanejo.

In addition to their chart-topping releases and extensive touring, Maiara and Maraisa have continued to expand their artistic footprint through collaborative projects like Patroas and solo television appearances. They are celebrated for their distinctive vocal harmonies, songwriting skills, and multi-instrumental talents.
