Biography
Maida and Marcelo are a Brazilian sertanejo duo consisting of siblings Maida and Marcelo.
They are the children of the renowned accordionist Voninho, who significantly influenced their musical journeys from a young age. Maida began her career at 10, appearing on her father's album, and later formed the duo Maida & Maísa, achieving success with songs like "Ainda queima a esperança." Marcelo, also starting young, specialized in the accordion and played with his father before joining the band of the popular duo Chitãozinho & Xororó for six years, gaining national exposure.
In 2000, Marcelo joined Maida, and they formed the duo Maida e Marcelo, releasing their first album that year. Their music often features themes of love, saudade, and rural life, characteristic of the sertanejo genre. One of their biggest hits is "Não tem cachaça que cura." They have released several albums and DVDs, collaborating with numerous renowned Brazilian artists, solidifying their place in Brazilian popular music.
