Biography

Rodrigo Freitas Fernandes Morais, better known by his stage name Major RD, is a Brazilian rapper and songwriter born in Rio de Janeiro. Raised in the neighborhood of Campo Grande, in the western zone of Rio, he adopted his stage name inspired by a character from the film Green Street Hooligans. Before dedicating himself entirely to his music career, he worked as a butcher's assistant, receiving strong encouragement from his friend and fellow rapper Xamã to leave the profession and focus on music.

The artist began his journey in rap battles in 2015 and was part of the Brutang44 collective. In 2021, he took an important step by founding the independent record label Rock Danger alongside Ycaro Torres and DJ Natan. Through this label, he released his debut album titled "Troféu", which featured standout tracks like "Rimo igual Pac" and "Midío", cementing his name in the national rap scene.

In 2023, Major RD released his second studio album, "Ascensão do Cisne Negro", which brought ten original tracks, including the single "No bank's". Throughout his career, he has also participated in highly visible projects, such as "Poesia Acústica 14", and collaborated with various artists, expanding his sound within Brazilian hip hop alongside names like Mago de Tarso.
