Makely Ka, born Makely Oliveira Soares Gomes in Valença do Piauí on June 26, 1975, is a prominent Brazilian poet, singer, guitarist, cultural producer, and composer. Known as a significant songwriter of his generation, his extensive catalogue includes over eighty recorded songs interpreted by various artists in Brazil and abroad. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with notable musicians such as Kristoff Silva, Pablo Castro, and Maísa Moura, while also releasing acclaimed solo works like Autófago and the bicycle-journey-inspired album Cavalo Motor.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Makely Ka has contributed significantly to Brazilian literature and cultural production. He has published poems and articles in several literary supplements and newspapers, and he founded the Sêlo Editorial where he released works like Objeto Livro and Ego Excêntrico. Furthermore, he has been deeply involved in cultural management and political advocacy for the arts, helping establish organizations like the Cooperativa da Música de Minas and participating in various cultural councils.
