Biography

Marcelo de Souza Moreira, known artistically as Marcelinho Moreira, was born in Rio de Janeiro and has built a solid career as a singer, songwriter, and percussionist in Brazilian music. Son of the renowned songwriter Aderbal do Estácio, author of the classic samba-enredo "Festa do Círio de Nazaré", Marcelinho grew up immersed in the rich tradition of samba and Rio's carnival.

Throughout his career, he has established himself as an in-demand percussionist, having accompanied major names in our music such as Martinho da Vila, Zeca Pagodinho, Paulinho da Viola, and Beth Carvalho. He was also a member of the prestigious samba group Toque de Prima, alongside talented musicians like Carlinhos Sete Cordas and Fred Camacho.

His discography spans several notable works, highlighting albums such as "Coisa de Chefe", "Daqui, Dali e de Lá", and the solo work "Fé no Batuque", in addition to participations in projects like those of Moacyr Luz and Samba do Trabalhador. Marcelinho Moreira continues to be a reference in percussion and in the preservation of traditional samba roots.
