Biography
Marcelo Augusto Bonfá was born in Itapira, in the interior of São Paulo, in 1965, and moved at a young age to Brasília following his father's transfer. In the federal capital, he became part of the burgeoning musical scene alongside names like Fê Lemos and Dado Villa-Lobos, participating in projects such as Metralhaz and the band Dado e o Reino Animal before solidifying his trajectory in Brazilian rock.
In 1982, he joined Renato Russo to found Legião Urbana, one of the most emblematic bands of Brazilian alternative rock, in which he served as drummer until the group's activities ended in 1996. Starting in the 2000s, he began a solid solo career with the release of the album O Barco Além do Sol, followed by works like Bonfá + Videotracks, Mobile, and the EP Outono, in addition to reuniting with Dado Villa-Lobos for commemorative Legião Urbana tours alongside guests such as André Frateschi.
Beyond his contribution to drums and percussion, Bonfá expanded his artistic work into computer graphics and became involved with rural and authorial productions, such as Cachaça Perfeição on his farm in Minas Gerais. Throughout his career, he has maintained striking partnerships and participated in projects with prominent artists from the Brazilian music scene, such as Herbert Vianna, Pitty, Dinho Ouro Preto, and Rogério Flausino.
