Biography

Marcelo Brasil is a self-taught drummer, born into a family of professional musicians in Salvador, Bahia. His interest in music started early, and by the age of eleven he was already playing professionally. Still in his teens, he began his career accompanying important names in Brazilian music, participating in various groups and carnival blocks.

Throughout his career, Marcelo Brasil has been part of bands led by renowned artists such as Sarajane, Tânia Alves, Moraes Moreira, Luiz Caldas, Elba Ramalho, Margareth Menezes, Caetano Veloso, and Daniela Mercury. His career has taken him on tours across Brazil and to various countries in Europe, Africa, and the United States, consolidating his presence on the national and international music scene.

In 2009, he moved to São Paulo, where he began dedicating himself to his solo career, producing his CD "No Quarto". Marcelo Brasil has also focused his work on instrumental music, MPB, and jazz, and in 2011 he recorded a DVD at the Fênix Jazz Festival alongside Stanley Clarke and Armandinho Macedo. His versatility and talent make him a relevant name in Brazilian music.
