Biography

Marcelo Cabral is a prominent Brazilian musician, composer, producer, and journalist, born in São Paulo on July 26, 1974. He has established himself as a versatile artist within the Brazilian music scene, known for his work as a bassist and guitarist, as well as his contributions as a producer.

Cabral's career began in the early 1990s, and he quickly became a fixture in São Paulo's live music circuit. He gained significant recognition for his collaborations with various artists, including a notable period as the bassist for the band Metá Metá and as part of Criolo's backing band, with whom he toured internationally and co-produced the acclaimed album "Nó na orelha." He was also a member of the group Passo Torto, whose album "Passo Torto" won "Best Group" at the Prêmio da Música Brasileira in 2012.

In addition to his work with other artists, Cabral has released several solo albums, including "Motor" (2018), which was recognized by the Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte as one of the best Brazilian albums of the first half of 2018. His music often explores instrumental compositions, showcasing his unique approach to the bass guitar as a lead instrument.
