Biography

Marcelo Diniz Martins (1967 – 2026) was a Brazilian musician, composer, poet, and music producer born in Campinas, São Paulo. His musical career began in 1995, working as a keyboardist in various regional rock and pop bands. His musical background encompassed various strands of rock and MPB, with notable influences from progressive, gothic, and psychedelic rock, as well as elements of Tropicália and Clube da Esquina, which led him to explore experimental paths.

Throughout his career, Diniz built a body of original work that merges the electronic and the acoustic, moving between the experimental and the emotional. He released over 100 compositions, including 14 albums and singles, and also published 6 books. His music, described as an experience that "wanders between Enya and Pink Floyd," was used in soundtracks, such as the Rede Globo program "Profissão Repórter" with the track "Coming Back."

In addition to his artistic career, Marcelo Diniz dedicated himself to music education, working as a specialist in keyboards and synthesizers. In 2018, he founded the Centro de Excelência Musical, a school focused on training instrumentalists and sound creators. His work as a composer, although often associated with his partnership with Fred Martins, is recognized for its poetic depth and unique sonic identity.
