Biography

Marcelo Jeneci is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, recognized as one of the most prominent voices in contemporary MPB. Born in the East Zone of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Guaianases, Jeneci grew up in an environment surrounded by music, influenced by his father who repaired musical instruments. His professional career began as an instrumentalist, accompanying major names like Chico César, with whom he undertook his first international tour, in addition to being part of the bands of Arnaldo Antunes and Erasmo Carlos.

One of the fundamental moments of his development was his encounter with the master Dominguinhos. For his first tour in Europe, Jeneci borrowed an accordion from the veteran, and when he tried to pay for it later, he was gifted the very instrument by the master. The transition to success as a songwriter occurred in 2008, when the song "Amado", written in partnership with Vanessa da Mata, became a national hit. In 2010, he released his debut album, "Feito para Acabar", which was received with enthusiasm by critics and the public alike.

Throughout his career, Jeneci has established himself as a master melodic creator, accumulating Latin Grammy nominations and APCA awards. His work is frequently marked by rich collaborations with artists from the São Paulo scene, such as Tulipa Ruiz, and by a constant presence in soap opera soundtracks, reaffirming his connection with the general Brazilian public through a sound that unites pop, folk, and the roots of regional music.
