Biography

Márcio Victor Brito Santos, born in Salvador, Bahia, on September 25, 1979, is a renowned Brazilian percussionist and singer, known for being the lead vocalist and one of the founders of the band Psirico. His musical journey began in childhood, shaped by his family's rich Bahian and African culture. By the age of 13, he was already demonstrating his talent professionally in Timbalada, a milestone in his musical training.

His career was propelled by important collaborations and influences. Márcio Victor has a strong connection with Carlinhos Brown, who introduced him to the music world at a young age. At 17, he participated as a percussionist in the recording of Caetano Veloso's CD "Livro", accompanying the artist for nine years. This experience enriched his musical background and connected him with the essence of MPB.

In 2000, Márcio Victor founded the band Psirico, which became a turning point in pagode baiano, introducing an innovative musical language with a strong emphasis on percussion. The release of the album "Psirico - O Furacão da Bahia Ao Vivo" in 2004 catapulted the band to success, especially with the hit "Sambadinha". Over the years, Márcio Victor has consolidated Psirico as one of the most respected groups in Brazil, known for its hits that soundtrack carnival and parties all over the country.
