Biography

Marco Aurélio Ferreira, artistically known as Marco Aurélio, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and record producer, born in Joaçaba, Santa Catarina, on November 30, 1973. His career in sertanejo music began in 1992, when he formed the duo Arquibaldo e Serra Morena. In 1997, he founded the duo Marco Aurélio & Paulo Sérgio, which became a milestone in sertanejo music, with distinct phases between 1997-2003 and 2006-2012. During a period between 2003 and 2006, Marco Aurélio formed a duo with Mathias, a former member of Matogrosso & Mathias, recording two albums.

As a songwriter, Marco Aurélio achieved great recognition starting in 1997 with the hit "Deusa Menina", recorded by his duo. Since then, his compositions have been recorded by several renowned artists of the sertanejo genre. Among his hits as a songwriter are "Você de Volta" (recorded by Maria Cecília & Rodolfo), "Amar não é Pecado" (a hit in the voice of Luan Santana in 2011, which earned him the "Melhores do Ano" award from "Domingão do Faustão"), and "Camaro Amarelo" (recorded by Munhoz & Mariano in 2012, which also earned him the "Melhores do Ano" award). Other notable compositions include "Balada Louca" and "Bola de Cristal".

Marco Aurélio has also worked as a record producer and manager. His skill as a songwriter has established him as one of the most sought-after names in sertanejo music, with works that frequently reach the charts. He is recognized for his versatility and ability to create hits that mark generations, demonstrating the strength of his contribution to the Brazilian music scene.
