Biography
Marcos Oliveira de Almeida was born in Belo Horizonte on February 11, 1983. He gained national recognition as the lead vocalist, main songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist of the alternative rock band Palavrantiga, a key group in the renewal of contemporary Christian music in Brazil. Before establishing his own project, Marcos was a member of singer Heloisa Rosa's backing band, playing keyboards and providing backing vocals.
In addition to his work fronting Palavrantiga, the artist has built a solid career as a songwriter and collaborator with various figures in the independent scene and MPB. He has worked with artists such as Lorena Chaves, the band Tanlan, and Mahmundi, with whom he co-wrote the track "Calor do Amor", winner of the Multishow Award in the New Hit category in 2013. His compositions and guest appearances have also reached projects by Arianne, Paulo Nazareth, and the duo Os Arrais.
After announcing a temporary departure from Palavrantiga, Marcos began his solo career in 2014 with the single "Biquíni de Natal", followed by the live recording Eu Sarau and the album of unreleased tracks Lá de Casa, released in 2019, the same year he also returned to activities with his original band. Alongside his music, he hosts the portal and show Nossa Brasilidade, exploring connections between culture, poetry, and spirituality.
