Marcos Paiva is a Brazilian bassist, composer, arranger, and producer renowned for his significant contributions to the Brazilian music scene, particularly in São Paulo. He is recognized for his innovative work with the contrabaixo (double bass) in genres like choro and samba, often exploring the instrument's role as a melodic and harmonic guide within ensembles.
Paiva has released several albums, including "São Mateus" (2007) and "Choroso" (2015) with his trio, and has collaborated with a diverse range of artists. His discography also features "Meu Samba no Prato - Tributo a Edison Machado" (2012) and "Slamousike - rap e jazz" (2022). He has shared the stage with prominent Brazilian musicians such as Zizi Possi, Bibi Ferreira, and Danilo Caymmi, as well as international artists like Teresa Salgueiro and Tânia Maria.
