Biography

Marcos Sabino Braga Ferreira is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, cultural manager, and music producer who rose to national prominence during the 1980s. Born in Niterói, he began his musical journey in his teens, playing in local rock and instrumental groups before achieving massive commercial success in 1982 with the release of his signature hit "Reluz". The song sold over a million copies, reached the top of the Brazilian charts, and was later recorded in multiple languages while being featured in various soap operas and international films.

Throughout his career spanning more than four decades, Sabino released numerous studio albums and cultivated a reputation for his romantic style, collaborating with prominent figures of Brazilian popular music such as Guilherme Arantes, Erasmo Carlos, and Biafra. In addition to his performing and songwriting career, he has worked extensively as a music producer for major labels and has been deeply involved in cultural management, serving twice as the president of the Niterói Arts Foundation and championing local independent music and arts education.

Continuing to remain active both on digital platforms and through public service, Sabino maintains a strong legacy within Brazilian romantic pop and MPB. His enduring catalog, which includes beloved tracks like "Uma História de Amor" and "De Qualquer Maneira", cements his status as a key figure of 1980s Brazilian popular music. He also hosts musical radio programming and continues to mentor the next generation of artists, including his son, singer-songwriter Felipe Ferreira.
