Biography

Maria Beraldo is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and clarinetist born in Florianópolis in 1988. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in music from UNICAMP before establishing herself as a prominent figure in the Brazilian alternative music scene. Her early career gained momentum when she joined Arrigo Barnabé's band, performed alongside Elza Soares, and co-founded the musical group Quartabê. Throughout her career, she has collaborated extensively on albums and live performances with notable artists such as Negro Leo, Iara Rennó, and Romulo Fróes.

In 2017, Beraldo embarked on a solo career, culminating in the 2018 release of her critically acclaimed debut studio album, "Cavala". The album received widespread attention from both national and international alternative music circles, particularly following its vinyl release. Her distinctive artistic voice and the openly lesbian themes reflected in her lyrics helped propel her tour across various Brazilian cities as well as international stages in Portugal and Japan.

Continuing her trajectory of artistic success, Beraldo released her album "Colinho", which earned recognition by being included on the APCA list of the 50 best albums of 2024. Beyond her solo work, she has contributed to projects by artists like Dante Ozzetti, Lineker, and Manu Maltez. In late 2025, she married filmmaker Júlia Anquier in São Paulo, further cementing her prominent cultural presence in Brazil.
