Biography

Mariana Cavanellas is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and producer, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. She gained prominence as the co-founder of the bands Lamparina e A Primavera (later known as Lamparina) and, later, as a member of the phenomenon Rosa Neon. Since 2020, Cavanellas has been developing a solo career, releasing a series of EPs and singles that explore a pop sound with influences from electronic, indie, rap, and trip hop. Her music frequently addresses themes of intimacy, motherhood, feminism, and politics, pursuing an art that "educates and does not anesthetize," as she herself describes.

The experience of motherhood was a significant milestone in her artistic journey, inspiring projects such as the double EP "Tudo Vibra" (2020), which explores the rediscovery of the self after pregnancy. Cavanellas describes this period as a moment of reconnection with herself and of understanding the value of time, resulting in a work that blends electronic with organic elements and invites reflection. Her solo discography includes albums such as "DNA" (2023) and various singles and EPs like "Cavalo", "Ego", "É Top", and "Eu e Tu", which demonstrate her versatility and sonic experimentation.

Cavanellas is recognized for her artistic approach that avoids labels and seeks new forms of expression, engaging with different genres and sounds. Her solo career has been marked by collaborations with other relevant artists and producers in the Brazilian music scene, such as Tropkillaz and Thiago Braga. The artist from Minas Gerais stands out for her ability to move between avant-garde pop and more experimental elements, consolidating herself as an important voice in Brazil's new music scene.
