Biography

Mário Adnet was born in Rio de Janeiro on September 26, 1957, and consolidated his career as a composer, acoustic guitarist, arranger, and music producer. He belongs to a traditional family of musicians, being the nephew of pianist Carmen Vitis Adnet, brother of Chico Adnet, Maucha Adnet, and Muiza Adnet, as well as the father of Antonia Adnet and Joana Adnet.

His professional career began in 1980, and over the decades he has built a vast discography focused on instrumental music, jazz, and MPB. Among his standout works are albums such as Jobim Jazz and tributes to great names in national culture, including Heitor Villa-Lobos and Moacir Santos.

Internationally recognized for his artistic excellence, Adnet received a Latin Grammy nomination in the Best Latin Jazz Album category for the live recording of Jobim Jazz. His work fluidly transitions between erudition and Brazilianness, solidifying partnerships with musicians such as Philippe Baden Powell and Alberto Rosenblit.
