Biography

Mario Broder is a Brazilian artist hailing from Rio de Janeiro. His musical journey began at the tender age of six when he received a flute from his father, quickly showing an aptitude for the instrument. Broder's early musical experiences were rooted in his local church in the Bairro Jabour, where he started by playing and later singing.

His professional career took flight when he joined the group Funk N' Lata as a vocalist, an opportunity that came about through Ivo Meirelles, who became a significant mentor and friend. Subsequently, Broder became a part of Farofa Carioca, a band he continues to be a part of to this day. In Farofa Carioca, he performs alongside Gabriel Moura and took over as the vocalist, succeeding Seu Jorge, another artist he befriended through the vibrant music scene of Rio de Janeiro, particularly in the Lapa neighborhood, known for its bohemian atmosphere and samba.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Broder has also ventured into acting. He portrayed Wilson Batista in the film "Noel, Poeta da Vila," a biopic about the singer-songwriter Noel Rosa, and also played LAÌLA in "Trinta," a film centered on the life of carnival designer Joãozinho Trinta. He was also part of the percussion group Lascamão, alongside renowned musicians like Robertinho Silva and Guto Goffi. In 2013, he released his debut solo album, "Balanço Diferente," which featured a special collaboration with the legendary Elza Soares on the track "Operária Brasileira." Broder also showcased his acting talents in the theater production "Marku Musical," a play about the life and work of Marku Ribas.
