Mario Sève is a prominent Brazilian flutist, saxophonist, composer, and arranger, born in Rio de Janeiro on March 20, 1959. He is recognized for his significant contributions to Brazilian instrumental music, particularly within the choro genre. Sève's musical journey began with classical flute studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where he honed his skills under renowned mentors such as Mauro Senise and Lenir Siqueira. His early academic training provided a strong foundation for his diverse career in music.

Sève is a co-founder of the influential groups Nó em Pingo D'Água and Aquarela Carioca, both of which have played a crucial role in shaping contemporary Brazilian music. With Aquarela Carioca, he achieved critical acclaim, earning multiple nominations for the prestigious Sharp Awards. His international presence has also been notable, having toured the United States and Europe and represented Rio de Janeiro at cultural events. His debut solo album, "Casa de Todo Mundo," released in 2007, showcased his talent as a composer and performer.
