Biography

Marlon Sette is a renowned Brazilian trombonist, composer, arranger, and music producer, known for his versatility and ability to move smoothly between various musical styles. With a career spanning over 25 years, Sette has established himself as one of the most respected instrumentalists in the Brazilian music scene, having collaborated with a wide range of nationally and internationally renowned artists.

His career includes participations in recordings and shows alongside icons such as Gilberto Gil, João Donato, Jorge Ben Jor, Gal Costa, Elza Soares, and Sérgio Mendes, among many others. This multifaceted experience led him to release his first original album, "Fogo na Caldeira", in 2019, a critically acclaimed instrumental work that demonstrated his ability to conceive and execute complex and innovative musical projects. The album was praised for its "double band" concept, where two bands played the same song with distinct arrangements, creating a "grooved" polyrhythm.

Marlon Sette is also recognized for his work as an arranger and producer, having collaborated on albums by artists such as Carlos Dafé and Dora Vergueiro, the latter of which was nominated for a Latin Grammy. His work extends to partnerships with composers like Cláudio Zoli, Hyldon, and Kassin, demonstrating his deep connection to the contemporary music scene. He currently plays with the Orquestra Imperial and continues to expand his original work, exploring new sounds and collaborations, such as his duo with guitar master Manoel Cordeiro.
