Biography

Mateus Carrilho is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Goianésia, Goiás. He first rose to national prominence as the lead vocalist of the electropop and tecnobrega trio Banda Uó, where he performed alongside Davi Sabbag and Candy Mel. The group achieved widespread recognition with hits like "Shake de Amor" and captured the attention of international producer DJ Diplo before announcing a hiatus in 2017.

Following the pause of Banda Uó, Carrilho expanded his musical reach by featuring on Pabllo Vittar's hit single "Corpo Sensual". This collaboration cemented his presence in the contemporary Brazilian pop scene and paved the way for his transition into a solo career. In 2018, he released his debut solo single "Privê", produced by Rodrigo Gorky, establishing his distinct artistic identity outside of the band.

Over the years, Carrilho has continued to release independent pop music and explore various visual and musical concepts, culminating in his studio album Paixão Nacional. His work frequently blends elements of electronic music, pop, and Brazilian regional influences, aligning him with contemporary artists such as Gloria Groove and Luísa Sonza.
