Biography

Maucha Adnet, artistic name of Maria Lucia Gonçalves Adnet, was born in Rio de Janeiro on June 11, 1963. She is a renowned Brazilian singer, known for her interpretation of Brazilian popular music and jazz. Her musical career began in 1978, at the age of 15, as a member of the vocal group Céu da Boca, with which she recorded two albums.

Between 1984 and 1994, Maucha Adnet was a member of Banda Nova, led by the iconic Tom Jobim. During this decade, she toured with the maestro through Brazil, Europe, the United States, and Japan, participating in recordings of albums such as "Passarim", "Tom Jobim: inédito", and "Antonio Brasileiro". In 1987, she moved to New York, where she consolidated her international career, collaborating with various jazz and Brazilian music artists.

Throughout her career, Maucha Adnet has participated in recordings by renowned artists such as Chico Buarque, Edu Lobo, Joyce, César Camargo Mariano, Dorival Caymmi, and Caetano Veloso. Her voice, described as velvety, warm, and passionate, with incomparable diction, has made her one of the most respected interpreters of Brazilian music, with a discography that includes solo albums such as "Songs I Learned From Jobim" and "Milagre", the latter in partnership with Helio Alves.
