Biography

Mauro Rodrigues is a Brazilian musician, composer, flutist, arranger, and conductor born in Rio de Janeiro on November 11, 1956. He began his musical studies in 1972 at the Fundação de Educação Artística (FEA), deepening his study of the flute and composition. His academic background includes a degree in flute from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a master's degree in musicology from the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música. Rodrigues also dedicated himself to studying the flute with renowned teachers such as Expedito Viana, Antônio Carlos Carrasqueira, and Bettine Clemen.

Throughout his career, Mauro Rodrigues has performed in various groups and orchestras, joining the UFMG Chamber Orchestra and the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra between 1983 and 1985. He has participated in groups such as Arca de Noé, Vera Cruz, and Quarteto de Flautas, in addition to having accompanied artists like Beto Guedes, Fernando Orly, Tavinho Moura, and Toninho Horta. His work spans compositions for various instruments, arrangements, and soundtracks, demonstrating his versatility as a musician.

As a composer and arranger, Mauro Rodrigues has contributed significantly to Brazilian music, with works recorded on various albums and participation in projects that celebrate instrumental music and the flute.
