Leandro Aparecido Ferreira, professionally known as MC Fioti, is a Brazilian singer and producer who became a central figure in the funk paulista movement. Born in Itapecerica da Serra, São Paulo, he first gained significant traction on social media in 2016. His initial breakthrough came with the single "Vai Toma," a collaboration with fellow artist MC Pikachu, which showcased his style of heavy basslines and minimalist production.\n\nFollowing his early success, MC Fioti continued to expand his influence within the Brazilian urban scene through collaborations with artists such as MC Lan and the hip-hop group Tribo da Periferia. However, his career reached a global scale with the 2017 release of "Bum Bum Tam Tam." The track, which famously samples Johann Sebastian Bach, became a massive international hit, eventually receiving a high-profile remix featuring global stars. The original music video has since amassed over a billion views on YouTube, cementing Fioti's place in the history of Brazilian funk.\n\nIn early 2021, MC Fioti utilized his platform for public health awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic. He released a special version of his biggest hit titled "Bum bum tam tam (remix vacina Butantan)." The music video was filmed at the headquarters of the Butantan Institute and featured employees of the research center, serving as a tribute to the scientists and workers involved in the development of the CoronaVac vaccine in Brazil.
