Biography

Paulo Alexandre Marques, known artistically as MC Marks, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born and raised in Americanópolis, on the outskirts of the southern zone of São Paulo. Since his youth, he showed a passion for music, influenced by funk and also by his father's pagode group. After starting to work early on, he decided to follow his true calling in 2012, when he composed his first funk song and began a trajectory marked by major hits in the outskirts of São Paulo.

The artist achieved enormous national prominence by accumulating hundreds of millions of views with hits like "Deus é por Nós" and "Céu de Pipa". He stands out in the music scene for his unique melodic style and for lyrics with strong political and social content, addressing themes such as capitalism and the inequalities faced in urban communities. Consistently established as a true spokesperson for the favelas of São Paulo, MC Marks uses his visibility to amplify the voice of those who are often not heard.

In 2018, he took an important step in his career by signing a contract with the record label Som Livre, further expanding the reach of his motivational messages. The singer remains firm in his purpose of exalting peripheral culture and inspiring new generations through his songs, communicating with the public in a conscious and engaged manner. His work dialogues with that of other major names in national urban music, reinforcing the importance of conscious funk on the Brazilian scene.
