Biography

MC Tha, stage name of Thais Dayane da Silva, was born in São Paulo, specifically in the outskirts of Cidade Tiradentes, where she began her artistic journey by frequenting local funk parties. Without formal musical training, she started composing through observation and had her first recorded sound spread by her late brother Douglas, going on to perform at peripheral events while still a teenager. After a break dedicated to journalism and social projects, she returned to music encouraged by the musician and friend Jaloo, with whom she shared a residence at the time.

In 2014, the artist began her official discography with the independent release of the single "Olha Quem Chegou", produced by Jaloo. Over the following years, she consolidated her sound by releasing tracks like "Pra Você", "Bonde da Pantera" and "Valente", in addition to collaborating with names such as Mateus Carrilho. In 2019, MC Tha achieved major projection with the release of her acclaimed debut album, Rito de Passá, which marked the innovative fusion between pop music, Brazilian funk, and elements of Afro-Brazilian religious traditions.

Later, in 2022, the singer expanded her discography with the EP Meu Santo É Forte, a conceptual work inspired by the repertoire performed by Alcione between the 1970s and 2000s. Through her work, MC Tha established herself as one of the prominent names in the contemporary scene, engaging with different rhythmic and cultural facets of national music. Her trajectory connects the power of funk parties to religious ancestry, building a unique legacy in Brazilian music.
