Emerson Teixeira Muniz, professionally known as MC Tuto, is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter born in São Paulo on July 9, 2000. Growing up in the Ermelino Matarazzo neighborhood of São Paulo's East Zone, he initially pursued a career in football before finding his passion in music. Inspired by artists like MC Menor da VG, he transitioned into the funk genre, eventually rising to nationwide prominence with hits such as "Barbie" and his participation in "The Box Medley Funk 2".

Before achieving commercial success and becoming one of Brazil's popular artists, Muniz worked various odd jobs, including at a bakery, a car wash, and distributing flyers. He has since released several studio albums, such as O Tempo é Cura and Levada do 2T, establishing himself within the Brazilian funk scene alongside contemporaries like MC Ryan SP and MC Hariel.

In January 2026, MC Tuto faced significant legal controversy when his preventive detention was ordered following a severe traffic accident in Barueri, São Paulo. While filming an unauthorized music video, the artist was documented driving a Porsche the wrong way on a pedestrian path while allegedly taking a selfie, resulting in a serious collision that severely injured a twenty-year-old pedestrian. The incident drew widespread media attention and impacted his career trajectory as his legal team pursued appeals.
