Biography

Melim was a Brazilian pop, reggae, and MPB musical trio formed in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, by siblings Rodrigo, Gabriela, and Diogo de Paula Pontes Melim. Influenced since childhood by their parents, the siblings developed a strong passion for music, studying various instruments and participating in separate projects before formally uniting in 2015, following a joint performance at the Festa da Música in Canela, Rio Grande do Sul. National recognition came in 2016 with their participation in the third season of TV Globo's reality show Superstar, where they reached the semifinal and gained great projection with the public.

After signing a contract with Universal Music, the group released their self-titled debut album in 2018, driven by the massive success of the single "Meu Abrigo", which reached the top of streaming platforms and received platinum certification. Throughout their career, the trio collaborated with several major names in Brazilian music, such as Ivete Sangalo, Sandy, Anitta, Nando Reis, and Djavan, in addition to releasing acclaimed albums like Eu Feat. Você and Quintal, the latter nominated for a Latin Grammy. In November 2023, during an appearance on the show Altas Horas, the band announced an indefinite hiatus so the siblings could dedicate themselves entirely to their respective solo careers.
