Biography
Moreno Veloso is a Brazilian musician, singer, songwriter, and producer, born in Salvador, Bahia, on November 22, 1972. The son of the renowned Caetano Veloso and Dedé Gadelha, his musical journey is marked by a strong connection to MPB and constant sound experimentation.
His debut as a songwriter happened in childhood, at age nine, with the song "Um Canto de Afoxé para o Bloco do Ilê", included in his father's album "Cores, Nomes". Despite earning a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Moreno chose to pursue a music career, influenced by the artistic environment in which he grew up, interacting from an early age with names like Gilberto Gil and Maria Bethânia.
Throughout his career, Moreno Veloso has established himself in both solo projects and collaborations. He led the trio Moreno + 2, alongside Kassin and Domenico Lancellotti, with which he released the acclaimed album "Máquina de Escrever Música" in 2000. He also worked as a music producer, notably on projects with Gal Costa, and participated in groups such as Orquestra Imperial. His first solo album, "Coisa Boa", was released in 2014, followed by "Solo in Tokyo" (2011) and "Mundo Paralelo" (2024), demonstrating his versatility and constant pursuit of new sounds.
