Biography

Motorguts is a Brazilian band formed from the desire to create music without compromises or labels. The band emerged from the initiative of bassist Luis Mariutti, known for his work in bands like Angra and Shaman, and his friend and guitarist Marcelo Araújo, with whom he had previously played in the band Firebox. To accelerate the creative process, they invited drummer Rafael Rosa to join the group.

With some compositions already ready and new material in progress, the musicians decided to hold an online contest to choose the vocalist. This strategy aimed to reach talents that might not be found through traditional selections. The contest attracted musicians from various parts of the world, but the voice that stood out the most and generated identification with the band was that of Fabio Colombini, who besides his vocal power, contributed significantly with his instrumental and lyrical skills.

In 2012, the band released their first official record, the singles "Mercy" and "Motorguts", produced by Fabio Ribeiro and Ale Souza. This material preceded the release of their debut album, "SEVEN", which came out in December of the same year. The band's sound moves through heavy metal and hard rock, with influences from other artists of the Brazilian scene like Sepultura and Angra.
