Biography

O Mulheres Q Dizem Sim was a Brazilian musical group formed in Rio de Janeiro during the 1990s. The original lineup featured musicians Palito, Domenico Lancelotti, Pedro Sá and Maurício Pacheco, who together created an original and inventive sound. The group stood out for mixing genres such as samba-rock, bossa nova, alternative rock and jazz, in addition to incorporating rhythmic structures inspired by bebop.

Among the band's trademarks was the innovative guitar interplay between Maurício Pacheco and Pedro Sá, in which both instruments acted as leads using dissonant chords in distinct times and rhythms. This unique technique would later influence major groups on the national scene, such as Los Hermanos. Furthermore, Domenico Lancelotti's drums explored complex and unorthodox time signatures within a single track, marking the ensemble's sonic identity.

In 1994, the quartet released their only studio album, a self-titled work that received critical acclaim from specialized media, although it remained relatively restricted to the Rio de Janeiro audience. The group's importance transcended commercial success, being frequently cited by artists such as Do Amor in interviews and recordings. Recognition also extended to the audiovisual medium when they won the best democlip category at the 1996 MTV Video Music Brasil with the song "Eu Sou Melhor Que Você".
