Biography

Formed in São Paulo in the early 1980s, MX is a Brazilian thrash metal band that emerged as one of the most significant acts in the national thrash metal scene of the late 1980s. The band's name was inspired by the American ICBM MX missile, also known as the Peacekeeper missile. Their sound often drew comparisons to the Bay Area thrash scene, characterized by aggressive guitar riffs and, at times, death metal-influenced vocals.

Throughout their career, MX released several influential albums, including "Simoniacal" (1988) and "Mental Slavery" (1990), which garnered critical acclaim and established them as a prominent force in Brazilian heavy music. The band's impact extended beyond national borders, with their music reaching audiences in Europe, North America, and Oceania. They also had the opportunity to open for international acts like Testament and Exodus during their tours in Brazil.

MX has experienced periods of activity and hiatus, reforming multiple times since their initial split. They continued to release new material, including EPs and studio albums, maintaining a presence in the metal scene.
