Biography

Nando Reis, born José Fernando Gomes dos Reis in São Paulo, built one of the most striking trajectories in modern Brazilian music as a singer, songwriter, bassist, and producer. His relationship with art began early, influenced by his mother, who taught him his first guitar chords and sparked his appreciation for great female voices. Before achieving national notoriety, he was part of projects such as the salsa group Sossega Leão, but it was as one of the founders of the legendary rock band Titãs that his name became established in the country's music scene, acting as bassist, vocalist, and main songwriter of numerous hits over the decades.

In parallel with his established time with Titãs, Nando began a remarkable solo career with the release of the album 12 de Janeiro, in 1995. Years later, he formed the band Os Infernais, a partnership that further propelled his rock-oriented sound and yielded award-winning albums of great popular circulation, such as Sim e Não and Jardim-Pomar. Throughout his journey, he established fundamental artistic partnerships with national music icons, including Cássia Eller, Marisa Monte, Gilberto Gil, and Pitty, in addition to writing compositions recorded by several other prominent interpreters.

Recognized for his prolific compositional ability and for featuring prominently among Brazilian artists with the highest earnings in copyright and live shows, Nando Reis accumulates important awards, such as the Latin Grammy, and maintains a visceral relationship with the public through popular tours and extensive collaborative projects. Even in the face of personal challenges overcome throughout his life, he remains an active and essential voice of contemporary rock and MPB, celebrating his artistic heritage through albums of unreleased tracks, re-recordings, and symphonic projects.
