Edson Feliciano Marcondes, known artistically as Nêgo, is a prominent Brazilian samba-enredo singer and sambista. Born in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, on August 15, 1955, Nêgo has established himself as one of the most respected voices in the samba circuit, particularly for his powerful interpretations during Carnival parades. His career began in the early 1980s, initially as a backing vocalist for his brother, Neguinho da Beija-Flor, before stepping into the spotlight as a lead interpreter.

Nêgo's talent was quickly recognized, leading him to become the official singer for several renowned samba schools, including Unidos da Tijuca, Grande Rio, Salgueiro, and Império Serrano. He is celebrated for his ability to maintain the rhythm and energy of the samba-enredo throughout the parade, captivating audiences and judges alike. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Estandarte de Ouro awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of Carnival," solidifying his status as a legend in the genre.
