Biography

Nei Lisboa, born in Caxias do Sul in 1959, is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and writer who has lived in Porto Alegre since childhood. His journey in popular music began to take shape in the late 1970s, standing out in the cultural scene of Rio Grande do Sul with notable partnerships, such as the one with guitarist Augusto Licks, and building an original body of work recognized for its strong connection to the Bom Fim neighborhood.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, the artist has released several acclaimed albums, including the pioneering "Pra viajar no cosmos não precisa gasolina" (1983), "Carecas da Jamaica" (1987) — for which he received the Sharp Award for pop/rock revelation — and consistent works like "Cena Beatnik" and "Translucidação". In addition to his solid discography, Nei has expanded his artistic expression into literature, publishing books of chronicles and novels that have also gained international projection.

Recognized for his versatility, his compositions have been recorded and interpreted by major names in Brazilian music, such as Caetano Veloso, Zélia Duncan, and Ná Ozzetti, and his songs have also been featured on the soundtracks of important film productions in the south of the country. Celebrating decades of cultural contribution, he remains active on stage with original and symphonic projects, cementing his status as one of the most emblematic voices of MPB and gaúcho rock.
