Nelson Wellington is a Brazilian composer, arranger, and musician known for his contributions to popular Brazilian music (MPB). His career began to gain prominence in the early 1980s, with notable collaborations and recordings.

Wellington's work is characterized by its melodic richness and sophisticated arrangements. He has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Gilson Peranzzetta, with whom he won the "11° Prêmio Sharp de Música – Ano Jackson do Pandeiro" for the song "Coração suburbano" in 1996. His compositions have also been recorded by other artists, such as Rildo Hora, who included Wellington's "Sorrir" (co-written with Peranzzetta) in his 1996 album "Romance."

Throughout his career, Nelson Wellington has been involved in several album projects, often as a collaborator or featured musician.
