Biography

Nenhum de Nós is a prominent Brazilian rock band formed in 1986 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The original lineup featured Carlos Stein, Sady Homrich, and vocalist Thedy Corrêa, who united after childhood friendships and early musical endeavors. Their name stems from a lighthearted reflection on the traits shared by the trio, humorously noting that none of them could see properly, failed a grade in school, or served in the military. Over more than three decades, the group evolved into a staple of the national rock scene, releasing numerous albums and performing thousands of shows across the country.

The band achieved widespread national success in 1988 with the hit single "Camila, Camila," propelling their sophomore album Cardume to gold certification and featuring their famous rendition of David Bowie's song. Throughout the 1990s, they continued to expand their musical palette by incorporating regional folk influences from Rio Grande do Sul and elements of 1970s pop, leading to iconic tracks like "Ao Meu Redor" and collaborations with legendary artists such as Herbert Vianna and Edgard Scandurra. Their persistent dedication also led to celebrated acoustic projects recorded at the historic Theatro São Pedro, further solidifying their legacy in Brazilian popular music alongside contemporaries like Engenheiros do Hawaii.

In later years, Nenhum de Nós maintained a steady output of studio records, EPs, and anniversary live albums, continuing to tour and connect with generations of fans. Although they enjoyed remarkable stability in their lineup for decades, the group faced a profound loss in 2024 with the passing of longtime keyboardist and accordionist João Vicenti. Despite this tragedy, the remaining members—Corrêa, Homrich, Stein, and Veco Marques—have preserved the band's enduring spirit, ensuring that their melodic brand of Brazilian rock remains an influential pillar of the nation's musical landscape.
