Biography

Neto Fagundes is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, television presenter, and radio broadcaster, deeply rooted in the traditional regional music of Rio Grande do Sul. Born in Alegrete, he comes from the celebrated Fagundes family, being the son of renowned folklorist Bagre Fagundes and the nephew of Nico Fagundes. Growing up immersed in this rich cultural heritage, he began performing in nativist bars during his youth before launching a professional career that would make him one of the leading voices of gaúcho music.

Throughout his career, Fagundes has performed extensively both in Brazil and internationally, taking traditional southern music to stages in France and Argentina, and collaborating with ensembles like the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his musical endeavors, he is well-known for co-hosting the traditional television program Galpão Crioulo alongside his uncle Nico from 2004 until 2015, as well as participating in popular radio broadcasts. His work often bridges traditional regional sounds with broader Brazilian culture, reflecting the artistic legacy of his family alongside artists like Ernesto Fagundes and regional icons.

His contributions to regional music extend into diverse collaborative projects, including his work with the group Os Fagundes and ventures into rock-inflected regional music with the band Estado das Coisas.
