Biography

Nívea da Costa Pinto Soares was born in Belo Horizonte on July 25, 1976. Raised in a Christian home, she was involved with music from an early age and soon discovered her calling as a songwriter. She is a member of the traditional Lagoinha Baptist Church and was part of the acclaimed gospel group Diante do Trono for over seven years, alongside figures like Ana Paula Valadão, before leaving in 2007 to establish her solo career.

Starting in 2003, with the release of her debut studio album, Reina Sobre Mim, Nívea cemented her name in Brazilian contemporary Christian music. Over the years, she accumulated hits such as the 2012 record Glória e Honra, whose standout track "Em Tua Presença" achieved widespread national resonance. Her ministry was also marked by notable projects like the 2009 Acoustic album — which featured collaborations with Adhemar de Campos, David Quinlan, and Fernanda Brum — and various partnerships during the pandemic, including the hit "A Bênção" with Gabriel Guedes.

In addition to her journey as a singer, songwriter, and pastor, Nívea Soares expanded her work into literature and presenting, releasing books such as Os Improváveis de Deus and O Pedido Final. With an extensive discography spanning decades, she continues to be one of the most influential voices in praise and worship in Brazil, recording new projects and hosting programs on her official channel.
