Biography

Nuno Mindelis is widely recognized as one of the most important blues guitarists in the Brazilian music scene. Born in Angola and raised amidst diverse cultural influences, he began his musical journey in childhood, building his own instruments and absorbing both international references and the work of Brazilian artists such as Chico Buarque and Tom Jobim. After briefly residing in Canada, he settled in Brazil, where he consolidated his career and came to be ranked among the great guitar names in the country.

Throughout his career, Mindelis has released critically acclaimed albums, such as Blues & Derivados and the internationally acclaimed Texas Bound, recorded with musicians from Stevie Ray Vaughan's band. His talent has earned him major awards, including the title of best blues guitarist granted by the North American magazine Guitar Player in 1998, in addition to mentions in specialized lists by Rolling Stone Brasil. His versatility also led him to explore sounds geared toward MPB and pop in projects like Outros Nunos, which featured guest appearances by names such as Zélia Duncan and Rappin' Hood.

Established as a South American reference in the genre, Nuno Mindelis has continued to expand his discography with works such as Angels & Clowns and the album Angola Blues. He maintains an active career with performances at major international and national festivals, reaffirming his relevance in the history of the guitar and the blues.
