Biography

O Grilo is a Brazilian rock band formed in 2016 in the city of São Paulo. Originally conceived by school and college friends, the group went through lineup changes over the years, solidifying with Pedro Martins on vocals, Felipe Martins on guitar, Gabriel Cavallari on bass, and Lucas Teixeira on drums. Since the beginning of their journey, the band stood out in the national independent scene for their energetic sound and striking lyrics, gaining projection after winning the "Temos Vagas" contest and performing at the Lollapalooza Brasil festival.

The band's first major record milestone was the release of the EP Herói do Futuro in 2017, which featured production by Jean Dolabella and brought the hit "Serenata Existencialista". In 2018, the group signed a contract with the independent label Rockambole, expanding their presence in festivals and consolidating their visual and sonic identity. This maturation culminated in the release of their debut album Você Não Sabe de Nada in 2021, recorded during the period of social isolation and accompanied by a visual narrative concept developed in partnership with cartoonist Pietro Soldi.

In the following years, O Grilo continued to expand their sound through partnerships with artists from different backgrounds and the release of new projects, such as the EP Cajueiro and the album divided into parts Tudo Acontece Agora. The band has performed on major stages across the country, including Rock in Rio, establishing themselves as one of the prominent names of the new generation of Brazilian alternative music. In the national music scene, they share aesthetic affinities with contemporary groups that mix influences of rock, pop, and MPB.
