Odair Cabeça de Poeta, born Odair Tadeu de Freitas, is a multifaceted Brazilian artist renowned for his contributions as a musician, composer, and poet. Hailing from Bahia, he gained prominence in the 1970s, notably as the drummer for the iconic band Novos Baianos. His musical journey also includes a significant collaboration with the acclaimed artist Tom Zé, with whom he co-wrote and produced several songs.

Cabeça de Poeta is widely recognized as a pioneer of the "forrock" style, a fusion of traditional Northeastern Brazilian rhythms like forró and maxixe with the edgier sounds and electronic instrumentation of rock music. This innovative approach was central to his work with the Grupo Capote, a band he founded that also featured Oswaldinho do Acordeon and was produced by Tom Zé. The group's music was characterized by its blend of regional sounds, rock sensibilities, and a distinctive sense of humor in its lyrics.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Odair Cabeça de Poeta's work has also found its way into popular culture in unexpected ways. One of his songs, "A Feira da Fruta," became widely known through a satirical dubbing of the Batman TV series, humorously referred to as "Bátima". Despite periods of relative withdrawal from the public eye, Odair has maintained his connection to music and poetry, with plans in the early 2000s to develop a percussion-focused project and potentially take it to the United States.
