Biography

Olho Seco is a legendary Brazilian punk rock band formed in the late 1970s in São Paulo. Led by vocalist and founder Fábio Sampaio, the group emerged from the vibrant punk scene cultivated around the Punk Rock Discos store and quickly became a pioneering force in the national underground movement. Alongside contemporaries like Cólera and Inocentes, they participated in the historic 1982 compilation "Grito Suburbano" and performed at the landmark festival "O Começo do Fim do Mundo".

Throughout the 1980s, the band released influential material such as the EP "Botas, Fuzis, Capacetes", which expanded their reach internationally through compilations like "Welcome to 1984". Despite various lineup changes and temporary hiatuses over the decades, Olho Seco maintained its aggressive, fast-paced hardcore punk sound, releasing records like "Fome Nuclear" and "Olho por Olho". Their enduring legacy is marked by international tours, tribute albums featuring groups such as Força Macabra, and continuous celebration as one of the definitive pillars of Brazilian punk rock.
