Olmir Stocker, widely known as Alemão, is a distinguished Brazilian guitarist, composer, and arranger celebrated for his contributions to MPB, Choro, and Bossa Nova.

Born in Taquari, Rio Grande do Sul, Stocker began his musical journey in the 1960s, quickly establishing himself as a versatile instrumentalist. His career is marked by a significant partnership with singer Zezo Ribeiro, with whom he formed the duo Alemão e Zezo, releasing several albums that showcased their unique musical synergy. Alemão's technical prowess and innovative arrangements earned him recognition across various Brazilian music genres.

Throughout his career, Alemão collaborated with a multitude of renowned artists, including Elis Regina, Roberto Carlos, and Wanderléia. He was also part of influential groups such as Breno Sauer's quintet and "Brasilian Octopus," alongside Hermeto Pascoal. His compositions, numbering over 1500, have been interpreted by numerous artists, with "O Caderninho" being one of his most famous works. Alemão's extensive discography and enduring influence solidify his position as a pivotal figure in Brazilian music.
