Biography

Os Atuais is a renowned Brazilian musical band formed on January 5, 1968, in the city of Tucunduva, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Widely celebrated as "Os Reis do Baile" (The Kings of the Dance), the group has built a remarkable legacy spanning over five decades, marked by millions of record sales and multiple gold albums. Their signature style became a staple of popular regional and ballroom dance music in southern Brazil and beyond.

Throughout their extensive career, the band underwent several lineup changes and collaborated with notable figures in Brazilian music, including legendary duets with Tinoco, As Marcianas, and Carmem Silva, while their compositions have been re-recorded by prominent artists like Rick e Renner and Sandro Becker. Their breakthrough came with albums released through labels such as Chantecler, Copacabana, and RGE, featuring massive hits like "Morena de 15 Anos", "Barco do Amor", and "Moreninha Linda".

The group's enduring popularity allowed them to transition successfully across generations, embracing new formats from vinyl LPs to CDs and DVDs, such as their commemorative release "Nossa História". Alongside peers in the popular music landscape, Os Atuais cemented their place in Brazilian cultural history through extensive radio and television appearances, including performances on iconic programs like the Xou da Xuxa and Clube do Bolinha.
