Biography

Os Brasas were a prominent band from Rio Grande do Sul and one of the main names of the Jovem Guarda movement in the state. The original group featured Luís Vagner on vocals and guitar, Anyres Rodrigues on guitar, Franco Scornavacca on bass, and Edson Aymay on drums.

The band's journey began in 1960 under the name The Jetsons, changing to Os Brasas before recording their first single in São Paulo in 1966. During this São Paulo phase, they appeared on television shows and were part of Maestro Peruzzi's Banda Jovem.

In 1968, they released their only studio album, a work that eventually became rare and circulated for decades through alternative recordings. The band ended their activities in 1969, coinciding with the cooling down of the Jovem Guarda movement, which had artists like Roberto Carlos as its major icon.
